Beautiful unusual English Georgian antique solid sterling silver sugar tongs. They are hallmarked with interestingly to their grips with the Lion Passant mark and the makers marks of William Sumner I, this mark was used 1782 to 1784. They have been beautifully designed having an unusual bright cut flower pattern, the cartouche has been engraved with the initials EAP. They are in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs, fractionally out from being perfectly straight. They measure approx. 5.5 inches (13.5cm) long by 1.25 inches (3.5cm) wide across the grips and weigh 30 grams. Superb examples.
