A rare American antique solid sterling silver vesta case. It is hallmarked STERLING along with the makers mark of Frank M Whiting & Co. I would date it to c1900-1920 being very Art Deco. It has been superbly designed and is in superb condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs, it is clean inside, the spring is strong. It measures approx. 1.75 inches (4.3cm) tall by 1.5 inches (3.8cm) wide and weighs 16 grams. A rare example.
